y our car careens over the edge of the quarry. you only have mere seconds to realize what’s happening before your vehicle slams, tail end first, into the lake below. somehow you survive the initial impact. your nose is broken by the airbag. you’re bleeding and shaken up. the breath has been knocked out of you and you struggle to inhale. the car slowly fills up with water. you can’t manage to undo your seatbelt. as the water creeps up your body, you start to panic. you manage to free yourself from the seatbelt, but the water is already up to your neck. you try your best to open the door or break the window, but to no avail. you watch yourself drown in the reflection of your unbroken window.
